Gala Tent UK

As Chair of the Parents Committee for 19th Durham Scouts, it fell on me to look into purchasing some 'shelters' for the Scout Group - Gala was mentioned and good old Google came up with the goods - my first contact was Jake, who has been really helpful (and patient!) with generating multiple quotes - after much too and froing from our esteemed Committee, I made the personal decision to just buy one, at my cost (!) (you could say that it was the ear-bashing that I was getting from my Wife, the cub-Scout Leader, that was the final straw!) and it arrived last Friday - Saturday found us putting it up in the garden - it worked - easy to put up - well thought out with respect to fittings - instructions were a bit lacking in detail (pulling the pin to take it down!) - last night (Tuesday) it was a hawing it down and my Son was running a Scout Group, so he took it along - the other Leaders and the Group Scout Leader were surprised and grateful when it was easily assembled - result is I have been asked to buy 3 more (with branding) and should put these on Order, later today - my wish is for a bag for the main structure and for it to include a sectioned area for the canopy - awaiting confirmation of this - the result is that my Wife is happy (she is our with her Cub Scouts tomorrow and will use shelter if weather is inclement) and therefore I am happy!! From a purely technical prospective, the mechanics seem good and hopefully they will last, but time will tell - price was high (but I got funding from County Council to pay for it/them) and I am really pleased to be buying a British Product .....thank you!!Appreciate this is not really a Review, but more of a story, but if asked I will recommend Gala and very happy to be contacted by 3rd Parties, if they want an outsiders view.

It is a good sturdy product and the leg weights are a big help for use without the guy ropes. It is waterproof and quick to erect and dismantle but it does need 3 people to erect it - 2 can manage but it's a bit of a struggle.It was a bit of a long delay on the delivery of the sides but we have been able to use it very successfully every week with just the roof.

There is nothing wrong with the purchase just the person who made it ie me! I got my PVC and PE muddled up and ended up with ends with zips rather than Dutch lacing. Perhaps making the types different rather than both beginning with P and making it clearer the different fastenings might help me in future. Speedy delivery as always.

Great product great service. Overnight transport was a bit of a let down

Really happy with our gazebo - very sturdy and well made. Easy to put up and take down. We had an initial problem with a broken leg pin but it was successfully changed and fitted by the company.

excellent product much sturdier than i had hoped for , relatively easy to assemble with good instructions does need at least two people , one slight fault two of the side bars were not pre drilled as the others , but a minor point . so far everything ok and happy with the service

Good strong frame and canvass, a bit stiff to put up the first few times.

couldn't buy a whole set for 129 as it said low stock but clicked separately and only bought 3 sides for 119, bit odd really, yes i would recommend Gala tent as the equipment is good quality

The marque does exactly what it said it would do.Simple to erect.The construction is ridged and the base frame adds stability and rigidity.Happy with the product and would recomend it.

The Gala Tent is brilliant - great quality and excellent value. I wish we hadn't paid extra for the ratchet straps as they are not of a suitable size to hold the marquee in place. We will have to go to the additional expense of purchasing proper ratchet straps. Buy the tent not the extras!!

A good book / guide that has encouraged me to learn more about the Gala range and possible business opportunities.

Excellent quality and very robust. Videos for construction are also helpful. Had to contend with a full gale about a week after I put it up and no problems. Just be aware it needs decent tie downs to cope with that kind of weather. I used 3' long steel stakes driven 2 1/2 ' into the ground at an angle with ratchet straps and there were no problems. Only reason for 4 stars was the delivery charge to the Islands. Other manufacturers can deliver free of charge or at the same price as for the rest of the UK. Other than that, 5 stars.
